Another Funny Day!
Well, it's been a bit odd here again today and I have decided both our buckets are tipping over and neither of us are doing the other any good at all!
First we went out for our morning walk and there was a bear in the bush at the side of the house so that sort of upset poor old L.D. who barked furiously at it, hackles raised! Good Job! So then we go for our walk in the opposite direction and visit a neighbor ... yes we are cowards really haha! Neighbor has a camper on her land that she tells me arrived last night, the owners claiming they didn't understand English, although the Italian for private property isn't so different, and pointing down the lane I would have thought is pretty good for "please go away." Anyhow basically they refused to leave! They were still snoring at nine even though they spoke good enough English to make her understand they would be gone by eight this morning! And we are going away for two weeks! So I am already planning how I am going to make it impossible to camp/park on my yard while I'm gone as we set off for our walk.
So then we walked, Lucky is still convinced the bear is there in the bush just waiting to get us even though he was long gone ... he left a calling card further down the lane! Magic hand somehow just wasn't cutting it. Even when we got back boundary games and getting on his new raised bed was just not happening and my preoccupation with campers pitching up willy nilly while I am away didn't help! To cap it all after our walk, and the camper's departure, my neighbor found a wallet that had been 'lost' in town the previous day, thrown down at the end of my driveway minus all cash! So now my imagination is really starting to work overtime!
We did have a very short game of whip it however, which he seemed to enjoy. Shortly after that we went out to hang the laundry on the line. Quite impressed to see that he checked out the bush line to make sure there was nothing lurking (my little knight in black fur), and then came right back and sat by the laundry basket to wait for me!
So, as you can see, an odd sort of day. I swear he knows we are going away even though we haven't packed or even got the bags out! For the rest of the day we are abandoning any thoughts of serious training. If he doesn't focus so good for the rest of the day 'well hey!'' I'll try real hard not to get down about it, even though two days on the trot feels like we are slipping backward with all the speed of a formula One. Maybe just some down-time is what we both need today.
We'd love to know if you have days like this too ... just so we know we're not odd, or failures ... or both!
